About Us

Helping You Grow Your Business

In 1950, seven contractors convened in Baltimore, Maryland, to form an association united by the belief that construction contracts should be awarded based on merit to the most qualified and responsible low bidders – this philosophy forms the cornerstone of ABC.

Founded on the principle that free enterprise is essential to our nation’s prosperity, ABC’s core mission is to advocate for and uphold the principles of free enterprise within the construction industry, while providing members and their employees with opportunities for success.

Today, ABC stands as a formidable organization with 67 chapters and more than 23,000 members. Founded on the merit shop philosophy, ABC helps members offer a robust employee value proposition, develop people, win work and deliver that work safely, ethically and profitably for the betterment of the communities in which ABC and its members work.
