Locations & Training Centers
To serve Central Texas effectively, ABC Central Texas will operate the Apprenticeship Program out of two locations:
Convenient for apprentices and employers in Travis County and surrounding areas
Serving McLennan County and the broader Central Texas region
Classroom and lab training will be held at our dedicated training centers. Depending on the trade and schedule, apprentices may attend classes in the evenings or during designated blocks — while working full-time during the day. This flexible structure accommodates working apprentices and helps them balance work, training, and life.
Program Structure & How It Works

Enroll in the Apprenticeship Program. Your employer will help you register as an apprentice with ABC Central Texas.

Attend classroom training + gain on-the-job experience. We combine formal classroom instruction with paid on-the-job training (OJT). This blended model mirrors best practices for registered apprenticeships nationally.

Track progress toward journeyman-level certification. Apprentices complete a sequence of training levels, accumulate required OJT hours, and once all program standards are met, become eligible to graduate and take the journeyman exam.

Advance your career. With journeyman certification and experience, you’ll be qualified for higher-level positions, better pay, and long-term trade careers.
