At ABC Central Texas, we believe that every worker deserves to return home safe and healthy at the end of the day. Safety is not just a regulatory requirement—it’s a shared responsibility and a cornerstone of a thriving construction industry. That’s why we proudly support and promote Safe and Sound Week, a nationwide campaign dedicated to promoting the value of workplace safety and health programs among employers and workers.

Safety Training Classes

ABC Central Texas offers safety classes for our members online and in person.  We offer OSHA training through a partnership with UT Arlington with classes held in our office. We also hold monthly CPR classes.

What is Safe and Sound Week?

Safe and Sound Week is an annual event led by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) in collaboration with a vast network of safety organizations and industry partners. It provides an opportunity for businesses of all sizes and industries to demonstrate their commitment to safety, share best practices, and celebrate the successes of their safety and health programs.

While the campaign takes place over one week each year, its mission is much bigger than a single event. Safe and Sound Week aims to inspire ongoing efforts that keep safety at the forefront throughout the year. It’s about recognizing hazards before they become incidents, fostering open communication about safety, and building a culture where everyone feels empowered to speak up about potential risks.

Why It Matters to Central Texas Construction

Construction is one of the most rewarding industries to work in—but it’s also one of the most challenging when it comes to safety. Our crews face unique hazards daily, from working at heights and operating heavy equipment to navigating unpredictable job site conditions. Without a proactive safety approach, these risks can lead to injuries, lost productivity, and—most importantly—lives forever changed.

Safe and Sound Week offers an opportunity to pause the fast pace of projects and focus on enhancing the safety programs that protect our workforce. For Central Texas contractors, it’s a valuable reminder that safety excellence is not only the right thing to do—it’s also a competitive advantage.

How ABC Central Texas is Involved

ABC Central Texas is committed to helping our members make safety a priority. As part of our support for Safe and Sound Week, we provide resources, training opportunities, and expert guidance to help companies of all sizes enhance their safety culture. This includes:
