Have you ever wondered why we dedicate a week to spotlighting women in the construction industry? It’s more than just a calendar event. “Women in Construction Week” is a key part of a larger movement highlighting the increasing impact of women in a field long dominated by men.
Women in Construction Week is an annual event that celebrates the women who’ve made strides in this challenging environment and proven they have what it takes to succeed.
Celebrating Women in Construction Week 2025
The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) established Women in Construction Week (WIC Week) in 1998. NAWIC recognized the existing gender bias, which many still encounter today. WIC Week has expanded since its inception. It emphasizes the opportunities available to women entering the construction field. The 2025 theme, “Together We Rise,” promotes various events aimed at raising awareness. It also highlights construction companies of all types.A Time for Recognition and Connection
Women in Construction Week is significant because it showcases available professional development. NAWIC chapters hold various events through their local chapters. Some chapters organize high school presentations. These may include tours of project sites and panel discussions, or training programs for individuals in construction management. For 2025, Women in Construction Week is scheduled for March 2-8. It’s an opportunity for women to champion gender equality and career development, amplified through social media and construction week events.Key Events and How to Participate
